Welcome to the website of Anua Alaskan Malamutes the dogs that do it all! Here at Anua Malamutes, we consider ourselves a Preservation or Purpose Bred breeder. A preservation/purpose bred breeder doesn't breed just to churn out pups. Each breeding has the intent to preserve the breed, to maintain and improve on our own breeding dogs. First and foremost to breed to the standard, the original form and function of the breed. Purpose bred breeders are able to recognize the faults in their own dogs, and study pedigrees (to know which traits are strongly thrown) and evaluate potential dogs to breed to. Which is why many don't just breed to the dog in their backyard. Purpose/preservation breeders do health clearances on every breeding dog and submit them to the appropriate registry. Health is important to them because usually they breed to continue their line, and every health issue will affect how they move forward. They heavily screen applicants, and have a contract with warranties, honor the contract and stand behind their pups, giving support to puppy buyers. And always take their dogs back. |
Located in northern IL we are a malamute breeder of working house dogs, and believe malamutes should be bred keeping working function, health, and temperament foremost in mind. Our malamutes enjoy many activities, including the show ring, sledding/carting, back packing, weight pulling, agility and more. Our malamutes are naturally raised, are 100% grain free raw fed and minimally vaccinated. We are active members of the Alaskan Malamute Club of America, and the Alaskan Malamute Club of WI. All of our malamutes are AKC registered and health checked/certified through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals - OFA. We occasionally have malamute puppies available - each breeding is carefully researched and planned - sometimes years in advance. |
